For a long time, I wasn't thinking deeply about skincare. I used products, stopped some of them, started others and basically just did what I thought was working at the time.
Eventually, I stopped using one of the products I had been using and my skin became noticeably darker. Very dark compared to what I was used to seeing.
Someone told me I should start using sunscreen. At first, I wasn't interested. I had this idea that sunscreen would make me sweat, feel uncomfortable and generally make things worse.
But instead of assuming, I started researching.
During that research, I came across different skincare ingredients and eventually learned about tretinoin because I was dealing with bumps around my cheeks.
I also learned more about the products I had previously been using and how some harsh skin-lightening products can create problems when used improperly or for long periods.
I wasn't consistently protecting my skin from the sun. I wasn't moisturizing properly. I was also making decisions based on how my skin looked from one day to another.
Once I started understanding the basics and became more consistent with sunscreen, moisturizer and a simpler routine, my whole approach to skincare changed.
That experience is what led me to create Body-Refine.
Not because there is one magic product that fixes everything, but because I know how confusing it can be when you want to stop harsh routines and don't know what to do next.
